Motorized Four Way Diverter Valve Structural Composition
The complete Motorized Four Way Diverter Valve consists of two core functional modules: electric actuator assembly and four-way plug valve body assembly, supplemented by sealing components, limit protection devices and electrical control accessories. All structural components comply with international industrial valve design standards, featuring compact integrated layout, high structural rigidity, stable rotary action and convenient modular disassembly and maintenance. Each module cooperates synergistically to ensure accurate flow path switching, reliable sealing and long-term stable automatic operation.
1 Electric Actuator Assembly
The electric actuator is the power and signal execution unit of the four-way diverter valve, providing stable angular driving torque for plug rotation. According to structural characteristics and action requirements of plug valves, it is mainly divided into quarter-turn electric actuators and small multi-turn electric actuators. The quarter-turn actuator is the mainstream configuration, which can complete 0°–90° rotary switching within a short time, matching the working stroke of the four-way plug valve perfectly.
The actuator integrates a driving motor, reduction gear set, torque protection mechanism, stroke limit switch and signal feedback module. The high-precision reduction structure converts high-speed and low-torque motor operation into low-speed and high-torque rotary output, which can effectively overcome the friction torque between the plug and the sealing pair, ensuring flexible and unobstructed valve rotation. The built-in torque overload protection device can automatically cut off the power supply when the valve is stuck or overloaded, preventing motor burnout and structural damage.
In terms of control functions, the actuator supports local manual operation and remote electric control dual modes. It can output 4–20mA opening feedback signals in real time, feeding back the valve rotation angle and flow path state to the upper computer control system, realizing remote monitoring and interlock control. According to industrial safety requirements, it can be equipped with explosion-proof structures to adapt to flammable and explosive industrial environments, meeting Ex d II BT4 and other explosion-proof grade standards.
2 Core Four-Way Plug Valve Body Assembly
Motorized Four Way Diverter Valve body assembly is the core functional component to realize multi-channel flow switching, including cross four-port valve body, rotary plug core, valve stem, sealing pair, upper bonnet and bottom positioning base. The four pipeline ports are arranged in a 90° cross symmetry mode, with uniform stress and balanced fluid flow, avoiding pipeline pressure imbalance caused by asymmetric structure.
The rotary plug core is the key throttling and flow path switching component. According to structural types, it is divided into cylindrical plug and tapered plug. The cylindrical plug has simple processing technology, low friction and flexible rotation, suitable for conventional low and medium pressure working conditions; the tapered plug adopts conical surface precision matching structure, with self-tightening sealing performance and higher structural stability, suitable for high-pressure and high-temperature industrial working conditions. Different flow passage structures such as L-type, T-type and cross-type are processed inside the plug to adapt to different flow switching logic requirements.
The sealing system is divided into soft seal and hard seal structures. The soft seal type adopts PTFE, nylon and other elastic sealing materials, with small switching torque and zero leakage sealing performance, suitable for clean media such as water, gas and light oil. The metal hard seal type adopts alloy surfacing and precise grinding process, with high temperature resistance, high pressure resistance and wear resistance, suitable for high-temperature steam, heavy oil and media containing tiny solid particles.
Motorized Four Way Diverter Valve stem adopts an integrated connecting structure with the plug core, with high coaxiality, no deflection during rotation and stable transmission torque. The bonnet and bottom base are equipped with positioning and anti-loosening structures to ensure that the plug core is always positioned accurately during long-term frequent switching operation, avoiding rotation deviation and flow path switching failure. The valve body materials include WCB carbon steel, 304/316L stainless steel and cast iron, which are selected according to medium corrosion and pressure grade requirements.
3 Supporting Auxiliary Accessories
To meet the requirements of industrial automatic control and safe operation, Motorized Four Way Diverter Valve is equipped with complete supporting accessories. The stroke limit accessory accurately limits the 0° and 90° rotation angles to ensure accurate flow path alignment and prevent over-rotation damage. The electric signal feedback module realizes real-time uploading of valve state, supporting DCS system remote linkage control.
Explosion-proof junction boxes, waterproof and dustproof casings adapt to harsh outdoor and chemical plant environments. The manual emergency handwheel device can realize manual switching when the electric system fails, improving equipment operation safety redundancy. The sealing compensation accessories can automatically compensate for sealing surface wear, ensuring long-term stable zero-leakage performance of the valve.
